Free download of X-Ray Absorption and Emission in Analytical Chemistry by H Liebhafsky

Publisher: Wiley; 2nd Printing, 1966 edition (1960) | ISBN: 0471534277 | Pages: 357 | DJVU | 16.65 MB

This fusion of disciplines, though desirable and inevitable, complicates the writing of books in fields where it occurs. Spectrochemical analysis by means of x-rays is definitely such a field. For whom shall a book on this subject be written? Our answer is clear. This book was written for the analytical chemist who wants to use these x-ray methods and to understand them. We have striven for correctness in physics, electronics, and statistics; but we have tried first of all to help the analytical chemist in his work.

Sune Svanberg, "Atomic and Molecular Spectroscopy: Basic Aspects and Practical Applications, 4th Edition"
Springer | 2004 | ISBN: 3540203826 | 588 pages | PDF | 29,7 MB

Atomic and Molecular Spectroscopy is a wide-ranging review of modern spectroscopic techniques such as X-ray, photoelectron, optical and laser spectroscopy, and radiofrequency and microwave techniques. On the fundamental side it focuses on physical principles and the impact of spectroscopy on our understanding of the building blocks of matter, while in the area of applications particular attention is given to those in chemical analysis, photochemistry, surface characterisation, environmental and medical diagnostics, remote sensing and astrophyscis. The Fourth Edition also provides the reader with an update on laser cooling and trapping, Bose-Einstein condensation, ultra-fast spectroscopy, high-power laser/matter interaction, satellite-based astronomy and spectroscopic aspects of laser medicine. Important references are also brought up to date.

An overview of modern spectroscopic methods, intended to serve as a textbook for a course on the subject for senior undergraduate or graduate students in physics. It should also be useful for students of astrophysics and chemistry. Assumes a basic knowledge of quantum mechanics and atomic physics.

Sune Svanberg is a professor of physics and head of the Atomic Physics Division of the Lund Institute of Technology. He is also the director of the multi-disciplinary Lund Laser Centre at the Lund University. He has extensive research experience in radiofrequency, optical and laser spectroscopy, and in the use of lasers in combustion diagnostics, environmental monitoring, and medical diagnostics and treatment, and is thus in good position to cover the vast scope of the book. Sune Svanberg has coauthored almost 500 papers and trained a large number or undergraduates and graduates in basic and applied atomic and molecular spectroscopy. He served extensively in international organisations and scientific advisory committees. He is a member of five academies and holds three honorary doctor degrees.

Interpreting Infrared, Raman, and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectra by Richard A. Nyquist

Interpreting Infrared, Raman, and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectra by Richard A. Nyquist
Publisher: Academic Press; 1st edition (April 20, 2001) | ISBN: 0125234759 | Pages: 1068 | PDF | 28.8 MB

This book teaches the analyst why it is advantageous to obtain vibrational data under different physical phases. Molecular vibrations are affected by change in physical phase, and knowledge of how certain molecular vibrations are affected by change in the chemical environment improves the analyst's ability to solve complex chemical problems.

This book is invaluable for students and scientists engaged in analytical and organic chemistry, since application of IR and Raman spectroscopy is essential in identifying and verifying molecular structure.

This reference provides analysts with information that enables them to acquire the maximum amount of information when sampling molecular vibrations via IR and Raman spectroscopy.

Key Features
* Explains why it is advantageous to obtain vibrational data under different physical phases
* Compiles many vibrational studies into a single compendium
* Lists group frequencies in different physical phases
* Reveals that some group frequencies are more affected than others by changes in the physical phase
* Demonstrates that in-phase and out-of-phase vibrations of the same functional group are not equally affected
* Describes how solute-solvent complexes differ with changes in the solvent system
* Shows that the amount of Fermi resonance between a fundamental vibration and a combination or overtone is altered with change of physical phase
* Written by an internationally recognized expert

Free Download of Quality Assurance for Environmental Analysis

Quality Assurance for Environmental Analysis
Elsevier Science Pub Co | ISBN: 0444899553 | 1995-01-01 | PDF | 670 pages | 34 Mb

Hardbound. Quality assurance (QA) for environmental analysis is a growing feature of the nineties as is illustrated by the number of QA guidelines and systems which are being implemented nowadays. There is, however, often a huge gap between the implementation and respect of QA guidelines and the technical approach undertaken to improve and validate new analytical methods. This is particularly true for complex determinations involving multi-step methodologies such as those used in speciation and organic analyses.

Quality assurance may also be considered from the technical point of view, which is the focus of this book. The techniques used in different analytical fields (inorganic, speciation and organic analysis) are critically reviewed (i.e. discussion of advantages and limitations) and existing tools for evaluating their performance are described (e.g. interlaboratory studies, use of certified reference materials). Particular reference is made to the a

Quality Assurance and Quality Control in the Analytical Chemical Laboratory: A Practical Approach (Analytical Chemistry)
Publisher: CRC | ISBN: 1420082701 | edition 2009 | PDF | 232 pages | 2,17 mb
Using an approach grounded in hands-on experience, the book
begins with the theory behind quality control systems and then moves on to discuss examples of such tools as validation parameter measurements, the use of statistical tests, counting the margin of error, and estimating uncertainty. The authors draw on their experience in uncertainty estimation, traceability, statistics, proficiency tests, and method validation to craft a resource that provide practical guidance for each step of the quality assurance process.
